English Rose: Rincon

And this is another appreciation post for Rincon. Today we are going to be talking about restaurant that serves brunch called “The English Rose”.

“The English Rose” is a bed and breakfast located in Rincon, Puerto Rico.

Something very important for you to know that theres two ways to get to the restaurant. One is literally one way road. Like you can’t barely pass an suv through it and the other way fits two cars.

The moral of the story is that never let the GPS get the power of taking the lead on road trips folks, in this particular case ask a local if you rant up for a scary adventure.

Even though that arriving there is super stressful the view up there is amazing same as the food.

The style of food is pretty American. They serve French toasts, Bloody Marys, Ginger with lemonade, Waffles, ect. Something pretty different that what you can find in a local restaurant excluding the restaurant chains.

This is some of the things that we order in the restaurant. Something that I can say is that all the food that was served to us was felt that it was homemade, from the bread, to the sausage to the ginger lemonade.

Making you kind of wanting to you come again after that difficult trip to get down there. Because is actually shocking that they restaurant is up there and that is always full.

Something that you have to know is that to eat there you need to reserve your space. Because they aren’t open all day same as they open for 4 days from Thursday to Sunday and you have to show up 10 minutes before the time of your reservation.

I give this restaurant a 7/10. Even though that this restaurant is great… I think that they should get a trolley just because the one way road is pretty dangerous.

A Gem Accidentally Discovered

My family and I decided to go on a road trip to nowhere through the north of Puerto Rico a couple months ago. The thing was that we became pretty hungry through out the trip, we had seen this restaurant that looked so homey and every time we passed through the restaurant was always full.

This restaurant is in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, and the name is “Hacienda Don Jando”

The history behind the restaurant is pretty interesting. They have different chairs and tables, because they have been donated from different people that the owners have helped.

But y’all are here to here about the food, am I right? They have a sushi roll, but here is the kicker. The sushi roll is fried, has churrasco (skirt steak), amarillo, rice, cream cheese and mayoketchup. Most of us Puerto Ricans breath, sleep and drown in mayoketchup.

Either way coming back to the sushi. I have never had sushi before, but I can assure you that this is one of the tastiest “sushi” rolls that you could ever have.

Same as they have this dish that has ribs, pork chops and chicken breast filled with plantains. The sides are white rice, beans, ripe plantains and tostones. Making its the ultimate Puerto Rican feast.

The thing that I really don’t recommend is the milk shakes. But the environment really family friendly, the food is amazing and the service is amazing. My rating for this restaurant 8.5

Café Lareño Torrefacción Coffee Shop

“Café Lareño Torrefaccion Coffee Shop”, is located in Lares, Puerto Rico, and is owned by the coffee company “Café Lareño”.

The facilities are located in a rural area. I recommend to go in a small car and if you are going with your family or with a group of friends, is preferable that everyone go in the same car, due to the parking is pretty limited and sometimes is full.

This coffee shop has a beautiful view towards the coffee plantation, same as this place has a homey feeling. Giving you the feeling like you are in a Puerto Rican Grandmother house.

In addition of drinking delicious coffee and pastries, you can delight with one of their breakfast, sandwiches or hamburgers.

Downstairs the coffee shop they have a beautiful garden. Where you can enjoy having a good conversation or just enjoy the view and relax.

This place is a must if you are a coffee lover visiting Puerto Rico. My rating is a 8.5 out of 10.
